The York Martin Practice is the longest established irrigation consultancy in the UK. With its roots starting in 1985 and although the personnel have changed the companies philosophy has always been focussed on solid engineering principles whilst delivering practical solutions to any water engineering issue.

With this in mind we endeavour to be the link between the client and contractor to remove the hassle from the purchaser of services whilst at the same time ensuring the contractor provides this service to specification. This specification will be the optimum solution to the problem or project in terms of both efficiency and cost. It has got to be, we are putting our reputation on the line!

It may be you wish to use your existing contractor, that’s fine; many contractors are very good at what they do. Sometimes however, there may be a different solution to a project or problem that they may not see. The York Martin Practice can advise, suggest an alternative, and work with the contractor to ensure the job is completed. The important thing is that the project is completed accurately and efficiently.

You may have an irrigation system that is not performing well and budgets are tight. The York Martin Practice has many examples of projects successfully completed that have been phased to maintain budgetary constraints whilst providing an efficient improvement to an irrigation system over a period of years.

Here at the York Martin Practice we are problem solvers and yes of course we carry our feasibility studies, surveys, and project management, we also do GPS mapping, irrigation audits, CDM Management and 3D modelling. Our Consultants are Engineers and have had irrigation site experience on all aspects of water engineering.
